Parker Bryan Family Law Partner Brent Tanner Appointed to North Carolina Family Court Advisory Commission

NC Chief Justice Paul Newby recently appointed Parker Bryan Family Law partner Brent Tanner to serve a three-year term on the Family Court Advisory Commission (FCAC).

The FCAC advises the Chief Justice, and the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts Director on district management and the ongoing evolution of North Carolina’s Family Court Program.  The Commission sets guidelines and standards of practice within all 43 districts of the NC Family Court program.

The FCAC ensures continuity of services between Family Courts and all ancillary programs, including the Child Custody and Visitation Mediation Program, Family Drug Treatment Courts, the Family Financial Settlement Program, and the Guardian ad Litem Program.

Additionally, the Commission determines potential areas of expansion within the program, and when needed, recommends legislative action, including budgetary modifications and statutory changes.

Members include Judges from both Appellate Courts, Chief District Court Judges, Clerks of Superior Court, Family Court Administrators, domestic and juvenile attorneys, and various other court partners.
